Silvermane

Out on the grassy plain, chasing the hawk to the towering rock
Follow me back again. I'll lead you down to the waterway.
We'll fly you and I, Little Silvermane

He led me out in the early day, a lonely stallion as white as the river clay.
He ran with me then and was gone, when I wanted him near, he was far away.
Once my coat was a shiny brown, my home in the wind was the only one.
Now all my days are the dreams that I lace with my memories of you little Silvermane.

And the red grasses blow where we ran to the canyon before the snow.
When the wind hit the plain and the nights became cold,
You kept me warm little pony, my Silvermane.

As we ran through a sparkling stream, in a dream I looked off to the hills in the East.
His gait it was slow for he carried a sleeping young rider in need of me.
"Who sent you down little girl from the mountains, is it gold that you seek?"
"No, I've come for your son, I've been watching him run and he'll train for the races with me."

Many long starry nights turned to dawn since the one when my first born was taken away.
Now I look to the sky where a young girl is riding on the back of my own Silvermane.
Off on the rock stands the Lonely White Stallion who has left me a young foal again.
I will teach him to fly and then send him to race alongside of my little Silvermane.
